A prompt formula that works

Nano Banana understands full sentences better than keyword lists. A reliable structure is subject, action, setting, style and light, plus what must stay unchanged when you edit:

  • Subject: “a golden retriever puppy”
  • Action: “jumping over a puddle”
  • Setting: “a cobbled street in Paris”
  • Style: “photorealistic, 35 mm film”
  • Light: “golden hour, soft shadows”
  • When editing: “keep the face and the pose”

How to use Nano Banana Pro

Use Nano Banana Pro when the image is final: product shots, posters with text, detailed illustrations and 4K prints. It follows long prompts more carefully and renders small text better, at a higher price per image. A good workflow is to explore with Nano Banana 2 and switch to Pro for the version you publish.

Editing photos: what works best

Edits work best when you change one thing at a time and say explicitly what to keep. For bigger changes, such as a new background and a new outfit, run two edits in a row. Refer to uploads as image 1, image 2 and so on when you combine several pictures.
